Carbon is lightweight and rigid, and therefore the ideal material for our high-end probes. This lightweight Ortovox carbon probe is 280cm long and has all the features of a true professional probe. It is extendible, making it the first choice probe for many rescue organizations and mountain guides.
The 13mm diameter and carbon material make it incredibly rigid, break-proof and accurate. It also has a steel-cable tensioning system, guaranteeing maximum rigidity. Thanks to its PFA quick-assembly system, it can be assembled in just seconds and unfastened and folded just as easily. The rubberized grip also ensures safe, ice-free handling in all conditions.
As with all our probes, the Carbon 280+ PFA features a visual guide system with depth markers and a clear 1-meter marker. In addition, it comes in an optimized quick-release cover. Be Quicker. That’s what it’s about. In every detail.
Thanks to the new quick-assembly strap, the probe can be assembled straight out of the cover. It can be collapsed by pressing the system cap with your thumb. The thin and light rubber coating provides the perfect grip for quickly assembling the probe.
The intuitive visual guide system provides you with quick and clear information about the victim‘s depth at all times. You can perfectly adapt your shovelling strategy and save important time thanks to the clear 1m marker, contrasting depth scale and colourful end segments. The bottommost segment in neon orange indicates when you are approaching the victim.
The quick-assembly strap makes immediate opening and assembly possible in one motion, without first having to take the probe out of its cover. The significantly larger diameter of the probe tip compared to the probe elements ensures improved penetration.
